Corn is one of trading commodities that used all around the world. People usually eat corn caryopsis as carbohydrate source while the silk is just thrown away. However, corn silk has many benefits, one of them is to cure Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs). Corn silk is rich of flavonoids which stimulates proliferation of fibroblast and collagen.
Corn silk anhydrous gel consists of glycerin, propylene glycol, BHA, BHT, carbomer and TEA. Because of anhydrous base, the wound will not get too watery. The organoleptic test shows that the gel is translucent yellow color, typical corn odor, and sweet taste. The gel is fast absorbed by our skin and long lasting. The corn silk is cheap and easy to get. The production of this gel is simple. Corsage is paraben free. Based on all of evaluation tests, corn silk anhydrous gel meets the standard of gel specification. The gel also high acceptability from the pharmaceutical characteristics.
